Shoprite Botswana boosts group profit 

Africa’s largest supermarket chain, Shoprite, has reported a 12 percent sales growth for the year ending June, driven by rapid store expansion and a general increase in volumes. The group, which operates 2,322 stores across Africa, including 14 supermarkets in Botswana, saw total merchandise sales increase to approximately P178.64 billion from continuing operations.
