Starlink terminals being illegally imported into Botswana

As the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) considers whether to grant a license for Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service, an underground illegal black market for Starlink terminals is slowly emerging in Botswana. While the illegal black market for Starlink satellite kits has existed in various countries among them Russia, South Africa and Venezuela for months, its entry into Botswana demonstrates how difficult it is to monitor unscrupulous vendors who illegally trade in Starlink services without authorisation.
