The Executive Editor of the Sunday Standard newspaper, Outsa Mokone, has announced the death of veteran journalist Eddie Kuhlmann (58).
Mokone told the Sunday Standard team on Wednesday morning that Kuhlmann succumbed to death at his home village of Otse on 15 August 2017 following short illness.
Kuhlmann, who worked as the sub-editor for the Sunday Standard has previously worked for several news papers in both Botswana and neighbouring South Africa. Amongst others, in his early years as journalist, Kuhlmann worked for state owned newspaper Daily News, News Link, Mafikeng Mail (SA), Sowetan (SA), The Citizen (SA), The Star (SA) as well as The Botswana Guardian and the Botswana Gazette. Before joining the Sunday Standard he also worked at Business Weekly, The Nation, newspaper as well as Mmegi.
Kuhlmann is expected to be buried this coming Saturday in Otse village, some 30 km south of the capital Gaborone.
