The two suspended high-ranking Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) officials accuse the Director General Peter Magosi of orchestrating a fabricated narrative around the infamous “Butterfly” case.
The officers, Pulane Kgoadi and Paul Setlhabi, allege that Magosi falsely claimed P100 billion had been stolen from the Bank of Botswana to impress President Mokgweetsi Masisi and bolster his political standing. Both Kgoadi and Setlhabi were arrested and suspended from the spy agency earlier this year and are now seeking a combined P4.45 million in damages for unlawful arrest, detention, and defamation.
