It has been quite a journey since the first Mascom live sessions but through rain or sunshine, the Botswana Craft has managed to host a series of successful events featuring both local and international acts.
December 13th will mark the biggest and final edition for the 2013 Mascom Live Session which will feature South African song bird, Zahara, alongside, the local act Team Distant will be performing as well as part of the grand finale.
This year there has been a total of six events of this nature thus far. On the 1st of February Botswana hosted Anna Christoffersson with her Swedish band, Nnunu Ramogotsi, Shanti Lo and Lister Boleseng. 5th April there was a sold out event featuring popular South African band Freshly Ground and local jazz song bird Kearoma Rantao. 31st May it was moved to the Grand Palm GICC for an indoor event with Soweto String Quartet and the Gaborone Jazz Collective. 9th August we shared some deep jazz sounds with Steve & Bokani Dyer and the Dyer Tribe alongside Lister Boleseng. 11th October Oliver Mtukudzi came for his annual Spring performance. Opening acts were Mshilo & Stream Jazz.
Botswana Craft and their main sponsors, Mascom hopes to make festivals of this nature a regular feature on the Gaborone entertainment scene in the forthcoming years.
