An illegal Zimbabwean immigrant is in Tonota Police Station cells after stabbing to death two others a few weeks ago, said Tonota Police Station Superintendent Mphoeng.
He said that the incident took place in the Takothane area of Tonota.
One of the deceased died on the spot whilst the other one died trying to flee from the suspect after he had also been stabbed.
Mphoeng said that the bodies of the two deceased are at Nyangabwe Referral Hospital and that efforts are still underway to locate their families in Zimbabwe.
He also said that they were still trying to find out if the illegal immigrants were working for anyone in the country.
Botswana has, over the years, been battling a problem of illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe who have left their country because of difficult economic conditions there.
