Professor Danwood Chirwa of the University of Cape Town, has weighed in on the Law Society of Botswana (LSB) versus GUC students matter with a 28-page opinion. The paper, which analyses the suitability of Gaborone University College of Law (GUC)’s Bachelor of Laws degree for admission to legal practice, questions virtually every aspect of the programme while maintaining the measured tone of a man discussing the weather.
The report was commissioned by the Law Society, which has spent the last few months defending its refusal to permit graduates of the GUC-Leeds Beckett University programme to sit Bar examinations.
