African Banking Corporation (ABC), the pan-African bank, has announced a new branding name aimed at repositioning itself in the market as it looks ahead to rolling-out retail suites across the southern African region.
In a statement released on early this week, the bank said it will go by the name BancABC and it will embark on a massive plan of rolling out new branches starting the third quarter of this year through to 2012.
“BancABC branches will be opening across Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
“The group is currently investing heavily in technology, people, process and channels aimed at delivering a unique retail experience to its customers. It is in line with, and to enhance, this strategic thrust that BancABC is being born,” the Botswana stock exchange ÔÇô Zimbabwe listed company statement said.
ABC Botswana Managing Director, Jitto Kurian, was quoted as saying that his bank is committed to offering the unsurpassed service in line with their brand name.
“We are prepared to offering the best banking service in Botswana, focusing on client relationship management and customer centricity.
“We believed that the new name, BancABC, will take our image and brand positioning to a whole new level. We are confident that it will enhance our efforts to deliver superior quality service and unique experience to our customersÔÇöwhich is our brand promise,” he said.
The move is part of its raft plans to transform into a modern bank that will be offering corporate and investment banking, retail and SMEs banking facilities.
ABC has operations in Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe and has an office in South Africa. Its plans are to extend to other Southern African Development Community states, such as Angola and DRC.
