Absa Bank Botswana has confirmed that its Finance Director, Cynthia Morapedi, has resigned with immediate effect. The unexpected departure of Morapedi, who has been with the company for over 8 years, is seen as a significant shake-up within the bank’s top management.

“The Company hereby notifies its shareholders that the Company’s Finance Director, Ms Cynthia Morapedi, has resigned from the Company with effect from Tuesday, 14 May 2024. The Company wishes Ms Morapedi well in her future endeavours,” reads a short statement from the Botswana Stock Exchange quoted banker circulated within capital markets circles this past week.
