Cabinet has sacked the Chief Executive Officer of Air Botswana, Ben Dahwa and also dissolved the the entire Board of Directors.
Government recently made a commitment to refleet air Botswana, but has been concerned by growing spate of corruption allegations plaguing the national carrier.
There has been an ongoing investigation by Government on allegations of corruption pertasining to multi million pula procurement at the airline.
Minister responsible for transport, Tshenolo Mabeo has recently come under tremendous pressure to prove to cabinet that the incumbent leadership at Air Botswana has what is required to turn the state owned airline around.
The Minister has in the past called for patience to allow investigations to run through before Government could act.
A cabinet insider confirmed to Sunday Standard that a decission was taken Tuesday morning to get rid of all Air Botswana leadership to allow for a fresh start.
A Zimbabwean national, Dahwa has also come under pressure of stacking the air Botswana top management with his countrymen ÔÇô some of them with checkered past records and also those under criminal investigations.
