It illustrates how Europe is falling behind the US and China, and the authors provide basic statistics on satellite launches. They examine the number of rockets launched by the three parties involved. By May, the United States had launched 28 satellites, China had launched 40 since January, and Russia had launched 10. Meanwhile, Europe lagged behind, launching only four rockets.
