An Electric Car: a textbook lesson on the dangers of selling political fairytales

For the ruling Botswana Democratic Party, events surrounding the electric car are perhaps the starkest examples of what not to do when faced with a communications crisis.

Instead of doubling down – as it has been the case –  the party should pull back and stop talking about an electric car.

Sadly, the ruling party’s communications chief has chosen to slog through a path that amounts to goal shifting.
