Babitseng and BFA – A Decade of Backs and Forths

This past week, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Electoral Committee vetted out Tariq Babitseng from the association’s presidential candidates.

The decision was done despite a ruling by the BFA Elections Appeals Committee that he, along with others who were vetted out, be added to the list of candidates. In what was to be a twist in the already controversial vetting process, he was subjected to ‘an integrity test.’

From the onset, those in the circles of football knew the idea to subject the candidates to ‘an integrity test’ was yet another plan to take Babitseng off the race. He is, after all, the only man they believe can win the BFA presidency.
