The Minister of Justice and Security Kagiso Mmusi has told Parliament that cash stolen in all heists, bank robberies and ATM blasts amounts to a total of P22.6 million.
“Out of the stolen cash, an amount of Five Million and Ninety-Six Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty-Nine Pula (P5, 096, 289.00) has been recovered and Seventeen Million Five Hundred and Nine Thousand Five Hundred and Forty-Five Pula (P17, 509, 545.00) remains unrecovered,” said Mmusi.
He said although there was an escalation of incidents, currently indications are that there is a downward trend and with concerted efforts by law enforcement agencies, he assured Parliament the country will continue to see a reduction in this crime.
