The Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) 50 Over Tournament is providing to as competitive and entertaining as ever as recent matches over played in Selebi-Phikwe, Francistown, Lobatse and Gaborone show. It also saw some extremely high scoring games with some phenomenal individual performances coming to the fore, especially with the bat.
North Regional Game – Tlou Vs Kubu (played in Francistown)
Kubu won the toss and elected to BAT first and scored 321 for the loss of 8 wickets in their 50 Overs; (Aamir Sayed 96 runs & Irfan 55 runs. Shweth Bhargava, Arnav Ram & Sagar Gabdhi took 2 wickets apiece). Chasing the big target set by Kubu. Tlou were skittled for 155 all out in 36.1 Overs; (Ajay Bhargava 29 runs & Shweth Bhargava 19 runs. Aamir Sayed 3 wickets & Ishtiyak 2 wickets). Kubu won by 166 runs. Man of the Match for his all round performance was Aamir Sayed.
North Regional Game – Thutlwa Vs Nare (played in Selebi-Phikwe)
Thutlwa won the toss and elected to Field first. Nare scored 259 all out in 49.3 Overs; (Hemal Gandhi 82 runs. Faruk & Jay took 3 wickets apiece) In their chase, Thutlwa surpassed their target putting on 263 for the loss of 6 wickets in 45.2 Overs; (Sadik 57 runs not out & Zakir 46 runs not out. Uday Patel 3 wickets)Thutlwa won by 4 wickets. Man of the Match was Sadik.
South Regional Game – Nkwe Vs Mokwepa (played in Lobatse)
Nkwe won the toss and elected to Bat first and amassed a mammoth 463 for the loss of 2 wickets in their 50 Overs; (Mohamed Rahat 203 runs not out & Shahzaib Khan 169 runs. Imran Pathan & Arif Malek took 1 wicket apiece).In response to this nearly unachievable total, Mokwepa put up a fight before being rolled out for 276 in 47 Overs; (Arif Malek 70 runs & Javed Malek 51 runs. Shazaib Khan 4 wickets) Nkwe won by 187 runs. Man of the Match for his unbeaten double century was Mohamed Rahat.
South Regional Game – Tau Vs Tshukudu (played in Gaborone)
Tau won the toss and elected to BAT first and posted a meagre 197 all out in their 44.4 Overs; (Ali Malek Gohar 54 runs & Imran Khan 51 runs. Nabil Master 2 wickets & Karabo Modise 2 wickets) Tshukudu had a possible victory in their sight but finally succumbed to a total of 179 all out in 30.4 Overs; (Manu Michael 57 runs & Innocent Chando 34 runs. Imran Khan 4 wickets) Tau won by 18 runs. Man of the Match for his all round performance was Imran Khan.
