The Botswana Confederation of Commerce Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) is currently preparing for its upcoming Northern Trade Fair which will be held in Francistown on the 24th to the 27th of May.
The Director of Business Services at BOCCIM, Zoe Isaacs told the Telegraph in an interview on Monday that they are expecting to host at least 110 exhibitors this year.
“A lot of people are coming in to register. We are expecting to host various members of the private sector, parastatals, SMMEs, Non Governmental Organisations, financial institutions, hotels and other businesses as well as service providers,” she said.
Isaacs also said that they have invited the Group General Manager Commercial of the Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC), Anthony Masunga, who will launch the trade fair.
BOCCIM said the trade fair is a very important initiative because it provides a platform for businesses to network, market their products and services and to share information.
“After the official opening of the trade fair, there will be a prize giving and fashion show in the evening at Adonsonia Hotel,” she added.
Touching on the theme of the trade fair, Opportunities of Economic Diversification Amidst a Recession, Isaacs said that the theme serves to remind the Private Sector to utilize opportunities availed by government such as the Economic Diversification Drive(EDD) despite the effects of the global economic crisis.
