Ramotswa based milling company, Bolux Group, which produces the A1 Super Maize Meal brand, is the first milling company in Botswana to produce fortified maize meal.
Corporate Affairs Manager, Nkosi Mwaba, said although Botswana regulations do not force producers to fortify, Bolux has made the conscious choice to enrich its maize meal products.
“The fortification process enriches the product mainly with Vitamin A, iron, Riboflavin and zinc which are vital nutrients for infants,” Mwaba said. “The thinking behind the drive towards fortifying our products was that the company could now focus on a wider market and more importantly, our products provide vital nutrients for children.”

Consumers are guaranteed accessibility to our nutritious products all across Botswana, we will continue to improve our service delivery and quality guarantee and this is a commitment that we do not take lightly,” Mwaba revealed.
Bolux Group has been milling in Botswana since 1984 and is proud to be a major local producer and distributor in Botswana. Employing over 400 Batswana, the company also produces Snowwhite flour and Polana Pasta at its plant in Ramotswa, south east of Gaborone.
