BOPEU purges suspected whistle-blowers

The Botswana Public Officers Employees Union (BOPEU) has moved swiftly to purge some of its members who are believed to have filed complaints with the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority over contentious insurance deductions.

Some union members had slapped BOPEU and its investment arm, Babereki Insurance Brokers with letters of demand for refunding “us all the monies you received with immediate effect.”
