Botswana’s diplomatic and immigration troubles have deepened with the country now caught in another tightening of international border controls. Bermuda has moved to place Botswana among nationalities subject to stricter visa requirements.
The latest development adds to growing concerns over the standing of the Botswana passport internationally coming at a particularly awkward time for the government as it prepares to introduce a new citizenship scheme aimed at attracting people and investment into the country.
