Botswana stripped of FMD-free status as EU shuts door on beef exports

A document seen by  Sunday Standard shows that Botswana’s lucrative beef export industry has been dealt a devastating blow after the World Organisation for Animal Health suspended the country’s Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)-free zone status triggering an immediate ban on exports to the European Union (EU).
