Botswana is seeking to broaden its tourism industry beyond luxury wildlife safaris by promoting urban tourism and expanding opportunities for citizen participation in the sector.
Presenting his ministry’s budget during the Committee of Supply in Parliament, Tourism Minister Wynter Mmolotsi said the government had begun rolling out a City Tourism Initiative designed to showcase the cultural and economic potential of Botswana’s urban centers.
