CEDA Chief Executive Officer to inaugurate BOCCIM Youth Expo

The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), Thabo Thamane, will launch the upcoming Botswana Confederation of Commerce Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) Youth Expo, which will be held from the 24th to the 26th in Francistown.

BOCCIM’s Regional Manager North, Eileen van Der Est, says Thamane was invited to inaugurate such an event because CEDA is a very important stake-holder in promoting economic diversification and entrepreneurship among citizens.

┬á“The objective of the Youth Expo is to encourage and build networks, create platform for young entrepreneurs to reveal their talents, exchange ideas and interact with other young people from different backgrounds and on that note, CEDA would play a pivotal role in addressing the youth on entrepreneurship and economic diversification,” she told the Telegraph.

BOCCIM believes the initiative is a giant leap to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth who are the future of the economy.

Van Der Erst further stated that the exhibition will be the first of its kind in the country by BOCCIM and every youth across the country will be allowed to participate.

She went on to add that they, as BOCCIM, have realised that there is immense potential and talent in young entrepreneurs and that there is still an opportunity to take their entrepreneurship ventures beyond borders and help in diversifying of the economy.

┬á“The exhibition will give recognition to creative entrepreneurship across all sectors of Design, Music, Fashion, Communication, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Publishing, Manufacturing, Agriculture and Business Services,” she said.

┬áShe also stipulated that during the Youth Expo, a roundtable dinner will be held to discuss the topic about youth entrepreneurs, and the title of the discussion will be “What is your Organizational view in involving Youth Entrepreneurs contribution towards the Economic Diversification Drive.
