Chief Justice Gaolapelwe Ketlogetswe has warned the Law Society of Botswana (LSB) against intervening in a high-profile legal dispute arising from the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) crisis. The warning came after Ketlogetswe dismissed an urgent application by the LSB seeking to rescind his decision allowing South African Senior Counsel Reginald Willis to appear in Botswana on an ad hoc basis. Willis had been admitted to represent JS Beef (Pty) Ltd and Primefast (Pty) Ltd in urgent litigation concerning the management and economic impact of the FMD outbreak by the government.
