Debswana Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM) will on 22nd November 2012 honour employees who have served the mining company for a continuous 20, 25, 30 and 35 years at an event to be held in Orapa.
Debswana said that the ceremony aims to recognise the loyalty and perseverance of 103 employees who have spent many years working for the company that has been the backbone of Botswana’s economy and ensuring that it lives to its brand promise of ‘Mining the Resource, Enriching the Nation’.
Debswana Long Service Awards are granted to employees in recognition of their long period of service with the company, the commitment they have made, the loyalty they have demonstrated and celebrates the career milestones they have made during their tenure with the company.
It is also part of the company’s concerted efforts to motivate and engage its employees whilst reinforcing the message of rewarding loyalty and being passionate. Early this year, OLDM held long service awards recognition ceremonies for employees who have worked for the company for the past 5, 10 and 15 years, respectively.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dorcas Makgato-Malesu, who is also a former employee of OLDM, will be the guest of honour at the event.
