Design Surgery, a local agency, stood high amongst Botswana’s local and internationally affiliated advertising and communications agencies by scooping eight major awards in the different categories of creativity, making the company the biggest overall winners.
Design Surgery client services manager, Thabani Nyathi, says that the awards were the first of their kind in Botswana and added that the eight awards put their company on the international map, and not only in business circles but also because they confirm the company’s status as a competitive and friendly destination to do business with.
“Design Surgery is thrilled to be awarded the prestigious award as it is also a global recognition for the company and is also recognition for Botswana in advertising and branding,” said Nyathi.
He also pointed out that it is a big achievement for a company that has been operating for only the last four years, competing with other market players in the industry who have international affiliations. Nyathi added that there is a lot of talent in Botswana that needs confidence in working across the spectrum.

Nyathi revealed that their company is getting the inspiration from other big local companies, such as Choppies, who started small and managed to penetrate the international market. He said that Design Surgery already enjoys recognition as a company that grows with its community of branding, advertising and communication.
He stated that the achievement has opened opportunities and doors for the company, and that Design Surgery continues to offer growth for the company, within all aspects of advertising and communications.
