Registration for the Gaborone Diacore Marathon has been extended and is open for late registration from January 15 to February the 8th. This has been confirmed through a statement passed to the Sunday Standard by the organisers of the calendar racing event.
Diacore Gaborone Marathon is the longest running marathon for charity in Botswana since 2011. All proceeds from registration go to charity. The marathon is governed by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA). It is open to people of all ages.
“Registration fees will remain the same which is 42km P350 | 21km P250 | 10km P150 | 4km P50,” it reads. “Race numbers pick up shall be on Friday March 20th, 2015 from 08:00 to 20:00 and Saturday March 21st, 2015 from 08:00 to 18:00 at The Grand Palm Resort.”
It further states that a valid ID/Passport is required. “Any person collecting numbers on behalf of other runners must bring a letter confirming the request to collect the number and a copy of the runner’s ID/Passport.”
The statement further elaborates that, “the Diacore Gaborone Marathon does not sell or provide personal data to third parties unless agreed by the participant.” UCB Timing will provide race timing and race management services for the highly anticipated long distance running event.
Entrants are required to provide an email or mobile number which will be used to confirm race instructions and information to participants. Race information will also be announced in the media and updates are available on www.diacoregaboronemarathon.com.
