Former Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) member of the culture and publicity sub- committee of the central committee, Dr. Raphael Dingalo, has joined Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) as vice president, academic management.
Dingalo joins Limkokwing University from the Office of the President (OP) where he was Director of Research and Policy Development. He was later promoted to deputy clerk to Cabinet.
Dingalo was also a council member of the employer party in the Public Service Bargaining Council (PBSC).
It is not clear why Dingalo left his plum post at OP. He is well known for publicly defending the BDP in the press. He is the man with energy to engage anyone who challenges decisions of the BDP.
Efforts to get a comment from Dingalo were futile at the time of going to press.
In a press statement, Limkokwing regional director, Mercy Thebe said Dingalo joined the university as part of the schools’ continued efforts to strategically place Limkokwing Botswana as education market leader, and improve the management and development of the university in Botswana.
It is not clear whether the school has a policy of active political participation by its staff.
Prior to joining OP,  Dingalo headed the Academic Programme Review Unit of the University of Botswana (UB) where he facilitated the development and delivery of quality academic programmes for UB and its  affiliated  institutions by developing and implemented user-friendly systems of quality assurance and capacity building activities for academic staff.
He holds a professional degree of Doctor in Education (EdD) from the Institute of Education, University of London, UK; a M.Ed (Technology Education) degree from the University of Manchester, UK; and a B.Ed (Design and Technology) from the College of Marjons, UK.
