The Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BOMRA) and the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) are facing a doping scandal which may result in Botswana beef exports being banned from the European Union market.
The potential scandal surfaced following a directive issued by BOMRA on December 16, 2024, which was in response to an earlier notice from DVS dated August 21, 2023 flagging concerns about banned medicinal products in Botswana
