Exciting Coca-Cola semifinal match ups on the cards

The defending champions of the Coca-Cola Cup, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, will face Uniao Flamingo Santos in the semi finals next weekend.

Magosi, as they are affectionately called by their fans, had a tough game with Francistown outfit, Ecco City Greens, who held them all the way into the penalties. However, Chiefs managed to topple Ecco 5-4 in the ensuing penalty shootout.

The Coca-Cola Cup game will come after a dress rehearsal between the two teams at Lobatse over the weekend, as they will be playing each other in a premier league game.

Soccer fans will be looking forward to this game as it will make it easier to predict the team that will make it to the finals.

Chief’s Jomo Moatlhaping seems to have regained his scoring momentum as he continues to score week in and week out and is fast closing in on the leading goals corer, Master Masitara of Nico United. For Chiefs, elimination at this stage would be a nightmare as they are nearer to retaining their cup.

The fact that the Kgatleng giants are gunning for a double, the Coca Cola Cup and the Premier League championship, will be more than motivating to the players.

On the other hand, the unpredictable Santos should never be underestimated. They got this far through hard work.
Santos sent Young Strikers, the only First Division team to have lasted this far in the tournament, packing.

Mogakolodi Tsotso Ngele of Santos took last year‘s Coca-Cola Cup golden boot.
These two teams locked horns in last year’s Coke Cup and Chiefs won the encounter by 5 goals to 2.

This matchup is expected to be highly entertaining as both teams have something to prove.
In the other game, BDF XI will take on Naughty Boys.

BDF XI so far is the only team that can tame log leaders, Gaborone United. They managed to eliminate GU from the last 16 of the Coke Cup, after having beaten them in the first round of the premier league games.
