Gains in FNBB and Letlole pushed the Domestic Companies Index (DCI) up by 0.09 percent to 7,156.22 points on the Monday trade. On the other hand, the Foreign Companies Index (FCI) was unchanged at 1,805.85 points in the absence of no trading on the Foreign Equity Main Board. For the day, a total of only 15,084 shares worth P13,774 were traded as compared to 146,100 shares worth P252,841 that were traded the previous session. Banking giant FNBB gained 1.1 percent to close at the new 52 week high of 285 thebe, whilst property developer Letlole added 0.4 percent to close at 158 thebe.
Wilderness AGM for August 31
Listed tourism outfit Wilderness said it will hold annual shareholder meeting by the end of this month. In a notice on the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE), the conservation outfit said the AGM will transact the business as stated in the annual general meeting notice forming part of the annual financial statements. The company further advised that the Integrated Annual Report 2011 containing the annual financial statements will be distributed to shareholders on or about 1 August 2011 and contain no modifications to the reviewed results which were published on 28 May 2011. Wilderness shareholders will be held at The Gaborone Sun, Chuma Drive, Gaborone, Botswana on Wednesday, 31 August 2011 at 11:00 am.
Iamgold’s Rosebel mine resumes operation
Iamgold Corporation said that a 36-hour work stoppage of the mill at its Rosebel Gold Mine in Suriname ended this morning when agreement was reached with regard to a possible change in shift scheduling. The Company and union have committed to continue to meet, starting immediately, to resolve all outstanding issues. Rosebel has resumed operation and is on target to meet its 2011 production guidance of between 360,000 and 380,000 ounces of gold. Iamgold is a leading mid-tier gold mining company producing approximately one million ounces annually from six gold mines(including current joint ventures) on 3 continents.
