Francistown police are investigating a case of murder in which a 33-year-old man of Area S location in Francistown was found dead on Saturday night near a Police mess.
The Station Commander of Francistown Police Station, Superintendent Mojaboswa Mathitha, confirmed the incident to The Telegraph on Monday.
“The incident was reported on Saturday night and we have since arrested a 21-year-old suspect who is in custody and helping with investigations,” he said. “It seems the deceased was stabbed with a sharp object.”
Mathitha said that although murder cases are not rife in the city, a single murder case is of concern because it involves loss of life. He also raised concerns over a rise in cases of theft and burglary in the city which he said are disturbing.
“Burglary and theft in Francistown continues to be a concern because we such cases are reported almost daily.
