Health System Financing & the Right to Health VS Private Health Insurance: Where do we draw the line?

Health system financing is a critical factor in securing universal health care (UHC) and achieving equity in access and payment. This system remains a topical issue among policymakers and continues to lead in public discourse as countries design and implement policies, strategies, and approaches to achieve equity in health and universal health coverage. Universal Health Coverage (UHC) has gained great attention among policymakers and academics since the publication of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) World Health Report in 2010 (WHO, 2010a). A right to health or health care is reflected in the text of the WHO Constitution (WHO, 1948) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (United Nations, 1948).
