Fast growing crane company, Hoisting Solutions, has been launched to meet the rising demand for safe, efficient tower crane strategies on some of the most challenging projects.
Hoisting Solutions is a majority owned citizen owned company that was conceptualized in 2005 by Hornby Tumisang and Ian Nuttall-Smith, who had a dream to contribute to Botswana’s economy.
The Company approached CEDA in 2011 for an equity investment which was subsequently approved by CEDA’s Board of Directors on the 12th of December 2011. To date CEDA owns a 49 percent stake in this company.
Speaking at the official launch, Keletso Rakhudu, the assistant minister of trade and industry hailed the public and private sector partnership as empowering local entrepreneurs to realise their dreams. He said crane hire and lifting services is an important industry that supports the mining and construction industries.
“Mining contributes a significant percentage towards Botswana’s economy and it is important that Botswana builds a relative sense of self security with regard to the service sector surrounding the mining industry and its continued sustainability,” said Rakhudu.
He added that Hoisting Solutions is a true partner of the mining industry and has a significant role to play in the economy. “The company has already extended its services to various mines and construction companies and has been able to create 11 employment opportunities with scope to further increase the Company’s staff compliment,” he added.
Rakhudu emphasised that Crane hire services are indeed an integral part of the mining industry, essential at the construction phase, planned maintenance, breakdown maintenance and indeed mine upgrades.
