How will your story end?

When it’s all said and done how would you want your story to be told? How would you want your story to read? Would it be a story of courageous triumph over adversity or would it be the story of excuses?

Often we fool ourselves into believing that what we are going through is unique, that our circumstances are special. Yet when you look at it our lives are just ordinary and our circumstances just as ordinary. What makes our lives extraordinary is the extraordinary attitude with which we approach life.

┬áCome to think of it, if it is money that you want then you have millions of other people┬áthat want money just as much as you do. If you are talented, have great potential and somehow you cannot seem to translate that that latent talent into profitable results then there are millions of people across the globe in the same predicament as you. If you are stuck in a job that you don’t like but you have to do it anyway just so that you can put bread on the table then you will be relax in the idea that there are millions of other people who hate their jobs and their bosses too.

You are not the first and the last to be going through what you are going through, but you do have a say in how long what you are going through will last. It takes an extraordinary person to take ordinary circumstances and turn them into an extraordinary life. The reason why ordinary people remain ordinary for the rest of their lives is because they see ordinary circumstances as special. They think challenges they meet are unique to them, so they are held back and immobilized by what they are going through because they think nobody has ever been through what they are going through.
How is your story different from everybody else’s story? For your own info that is the story line in the lives of most people. They trick themselves into believing that their circumstances are special and unique even though they are not. What really sets people apart is not the number of ideas they have but rather the things they do. So you can hang on to your ideas if you want and continue to say things like am scared, I have a lot of ideas but I don’t know where to start.

(Imagine yourself saying this in a whining and timid tone of voice)
Alternatively you can get started where you are with what you’ve got and begin by appreciating the opportunities that you have which includes the job that you hate even though it gives you the opportunity save for that which you will love to do. That is if like some people you are holding on to the argument that you hate what you do. A job is just a job you know, you asked for it, it didn’t impose itself on you, did it? To hate your job is to hate your life and to hate your life is to hate yourself. People need to stop whining, moaning and get something started. Often when you take action the whining disappears because you will be too busy taking action to have an idle mind that entertains silly ideas.┬á

Some people say that I know what I can achieve if I put my heart into it or if I can just get started. If you really do know what you can achieve then why are you not achieving? Knowing and doing are two different things. You can know everything you want as much as you want but its not going to get things happening for you if you don’t get off your butt and get something done.

If you keep that up that trend of knowing and not taking action imagine what various speakers will be saying at your funeral. How about if they will be saying, you had great potential and the future held great promise for you, that a lot was still expected from you and that you died prematurely?
How your story end is up to you. All life is a story and we tell our own stories through our actions not through what we say. The story of your life will be told through the things that you do and the things that you do not do. So pay attention therefore to both the things that you do and the things that you do not do for that is what will ultimately tell your story.
