Botswana’s annual inflation eased marginally in August, offering little relief to consumers as higher electricity, food and other household costs continued to keep price pressures elevated.
Inflation slowed to 9.3 percent in August from 9.4 percent in July, according to Statistics Botswana’s latest Consumer Price Index. The reading remains well above the central bank’s medium-term objective range, pointing to continued pressure on household purchasing power.
