As the hunt for Maria Nthebolan’s successor at the embattled Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) continues, few names are being peddled for the plum position at the government investment arm.
The front runners for the position, The Sunday Standard gathers are former Barclays Bank of Botswana managing director Thuli Johnson, who has been in the wilderness since leaving the country’s second biggest commercial bank by market capitalisation on the Botswana Stock Exchange.
Another prospective candidate is former Botswana Institute of Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) research fellow Montle Pelontle. In the event she does not get the position, information coming out is that she is likley to be offered one of the general manager positions which will see her acting as managing director until the substantive head is filled at the corporation.
