Judge Key Dingake gives law a human face

Over the last week I had an opportunity to listen to interviews of former High Court Judge Key Dingake over two private radio stations.

I also had time to read a speech that he gave at the University of Botswana surrounding an issue that  we have as a country come to call a Constitutional Review.

Judge Dingake steers clear of jargon. He is not bombast. And he takes non-lawyers by hand, brings them along and assists them to fully understand all the issues he is addressing.

In Botswana that is not only a rarity, coming from a lawyer it is also strange behaviour.

We are used to lawyers that always speak pseudo Latin.  We are used to lawyers that are bombast.
