The Botswana Industrial Court on Monday announced the passing away of its founding judge, Justice Dawie de Villiers who passed away on Saturday 12 February 2011 at his home in Gaborone.
He was aged 79 years.
Justice de Villers is credited with having founded the Industrial Court. He was appointed as the first Judge of the Industrial Court on 1st April 1994.
Justice de Villers was originally from South Africa and later acquired Botswana citizenship.
His memorial service will be held on Friday 18th at the Anglican Cathedral Church in Gaborone at 11am.
All funeral arrangements are being handled by the de Villiers family.
