Karabo Sampson is Miss Botswana 2011

Karabo Sampson won the Miss Botswana 2011 crown at a glittering world-class pageant held at the Gaborone International Conference Centre on Friday night.

Outgoing Miss Botswana, Emma Wareus, who recently did the continent proud after winning at the Miss World pageant, crowned her. Tapiwa Preston is her First Princess while Sebaga Norwebb walked away with the third position.

She won the title after answering a question on whether or not women with children should be allowed to compete in the Miss Botswana pageant.

Sampson answered in the affirmative.

If there was ever any doubt about the improving and the seriousness in the production and staging of the Miss Botswana pageant, it was all dispelled on Friday night when the Miss Botswana organisers put up a show reminiscent of the kind you could only expect from Hollywood or Las Vegas.
The much talked about show was such a success that those who stayed away thinking it was just more of the same boring and predictable dull shows, only have themselves to blame. So out of this world was the event that it can easily be labelled the event of the year.

The venue was packed to capacity, with people dressed in their best as if they were going to meet God.

The ten competing contestants did not disappoint either as they walked the ramp dressed in their various attires, from the latest fashion dresses and gowns to sexy, if not seductive, lingerie.
MC for the event was funny man Dignash Morapedi who co-hosted the event with Tshepo Ntshole. Dignash kept guests in stitches all night with his jokes and humour.
