MATHUBUDUKWANE ÔÇô Organisers of the annual, Dinokeng Youth Entrepreneurship Expo have hailed the recently held event as success.
The event, which has been initiated by Kgatleng district natives and masterminded by Anthony Rasetshwane of Tonie Richie Events and Catering Services, was officiated by the Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) Chief Executive, Thapelo Tsheole over the past weekend.
In a brief interview on Friday, Rasetshwane noted that the expo was a progression from last year’s event which was itself a piloting project.
“This year’s event was successful and better planned than the previous one. We say so looking at the number of people who attended, both as exhibitors, well-wishers as well as consumers”, Rasetshwane said.
Asked on to provide the statistics to support his assertion, Rasetshwane revealed that the expo this year saw about 30 exhibitors showcasing their products and services. This was a growth from eight (8) exhibitors who participated during the inaugural expo held at the popular Cosmos Football grounds in the tiny village of Mathubudukwane.
“The turn up of people who attended the expo was good. I would say it reached over thousands consumers visiting the stalls. This was all possible thanks to the exposure and marketing that we carried through social media such as Facebook, local newspapers as well as Radio and Television”.
Rasetshwane further explained that the expo also got a lot of support from the Kgatleng business fraternity, local government authorities, Kgatleng land board and other government entities who came on board to make it a success.
After a resounding success this year, Rasetshwane says he is adamant that the next year edition would be even better.
“We intend to hype the event as early as January. This is our way of empowering youth from this region”, Rasetshwane said as a parting shot.
