A Gaborone-based lawyer and a London-based nurse have been implicated in the theft of over P2 million from Stefanutti Stocks Botswana Building Company.
Danelle Loren McCathy, 33, a British national was last week Thursday arraigned before the Broadhurst Magistrate Court charged with accessory after the fact to stealing by servant.
The charge sheet states that McCathy, on the 17th of September this year in Broadhurst and knowing that Walter Anderson had stolen money amounting to P2,2270.580,90 from his employer Stefanutti Stocks Botswana Building Company, assisted Anderson to conceal the money gained from the theft.
Information passed to The Telegraph suggests that McCathy, a nurse based in London, learnt that Anderson, allegedly her boyfriend, had been arrested in Botswana while in transit to Europe via Gaborone a few weeks ago and decided to fly into the country where she was also under police surveillance.
Anderson was arrested by the police at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport upon his arrival in transit to Europe and he is in custody.
