One would think that what is quoted above is of some internationally renowned bath and body care product line. It is with pride to have found out that Soulmates products are made locally, and Patricia Serojane started this product line, and won the award for Household Pageant Level 2 at the recent Women’s Expo, held at Ditshupo Hall where she also won P2000 as part of her prize.
Initially, she had a conventional job, an ‘8 to 5′, from Monday to Friday. This was not enough for Patricia and when she saw an advert on the Internet for a course for making bath products, she knew that this was her calling. Determinedly, she flew to Cape Town where she would get her training. After that, she bought raw materials and she was well on her way to what Soulmates has become to this day.
Not to be limited, Patricia tried her own mixtures; diversifying a bit from the basic instructions she had been taught. This proved to be successful; her training company was so impressed, and they then tested the innovative mixture that paved the way to being in line with quality standards.
The benefits of Soulmates products are that the ingredients used are 100% natural, environmentally friendly and the products are good for all types of skin.
At the moment, Patricia has two employees. She wants to open her own shop by year-end, as she currently holds showcases at her house.
She has found a niche in the market. On one hand there are lodges and guesthouse and wedding thank-you gifts.
Lodges and guesthouses buy their bath products from South Africa in bulk and these come without the lodges or guesthouse logo. She can make the products locally and personalise them. Her products also make for great thank-your gifts at weddings. They are great for individual use too.
