Mbatha blamed For failing the league

On Wednesday, the Botswana Football League (BFL) chairman Nicholas Zakhem ‘assured’ the nation that there will be no disruptions ‘from his and Jagdish Shah’s side’ for the league going forward.

Interestingly, the BFL chairman ‘was not sure’ whether the other side, being the shareholders, will do the same. His utterances come as the struggle for power at the BFL continues to pose a threat to the successful conclusion of the league this season.

Already, some BFL shareholders have already been suspended while one board director has been suspended while others have jumped ship. At the same time, BFL chief executive officer (CEO) Senzo Mbatha has had his contract not renewed after it elapsed. His exit came just a week after the league’s General Manager Patrick Motsepe had resigned unexpectedly.
