The Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) says former Minister of Transport and Public Works Eric Molale was the original decision maker in the Ghanzi-New Xade road tender.
Unlike some of the other charges in the matter, the allegation against Molale centres on the award of the contract itself.
According to the DCEC, Molale, in his capacity as Minister of Transport and Public Works in 2024, directed the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Kgakgamalo Ken Ketshajwang, to directly appoint Tau Grading and Building Construction (Pty) Ltd for the construction of the Ghanzi-New Xade road.
