Ernest Molome has made his long-awaited return to the Mochudi Centre Chiefs fold. Molome was elected unopposed to lead Magosi as a chairman during the team’s elective general assembly this past weekend.
A very streetwise and savvy administrator, Molome is now expected to lead Magosi as they try to navigate themselves out of their bitter power struggle which had threatened to tear the team apart.
Speaking in an interview with The Telegraph Sport, Centre Chiefs team manager Clifford Mogomotsi welcomed the appointment.
“The people have spoken, and we need to respect the voices of the people. As we all know, Molome is a passionate administrator and a winner and the people believe he is a suitable person to lead the team,” the Chiefs Team Manager said.
According to Mogomotsi, Molome, who conducted his committee’s first meeting this past Monday, will be expected ‘steer Magosi out of their current mess’ and restore stability at the club.
On the agenda at the meeting, Molome was expected to ‘unpack his new committee’s key deliverables.’
Top of the said deliverables were ‘the road map on recruitment’ as well as ‘source of funding to get the team back to compete.’
“As a committee, we will be working around the clock to bring some good assets to the team in terms of playing personnel. We can assure our supporters that this season we will be in to compete,” he said.
Mogomotsi said in terms of funding, the committee will have to dig deep to find new partners who can help them.
While promising the Magosi faithful that they will duly deliver on their expectations, Mogomotsi was however cautioned them they will have to be patient.
“They have to know it is not going to be easy. However, for now, there is a light at the end of the tunnel,” the Centre Chiefs team manager said.
Mogomotsi said given the diverse skills possessed by the newly elected Centre Chiefs executive committee, it is not outside the realm of possibility that they can deliver.
“As a committee, we have diverse range of skills which if synergised, could bring the team success,” he declared.
Aside from Molome and Mogomotsi, other members of the Chiefs committee are Chris Molomo as President, Raymond Tsheko as vice chairman, Reuben Lekorwe as secretary general, Ridwell Moremi as treasurer as well as Pollen Makgane, Rapula Moetlo and Reginald Madisa as additional members.
“These are all members of the Centre Chiefs family and we all know each other and respect each other. Most of us have at one point or another worked together and we can deliver,” a confident Mogomotsi said.
Meanwhile, Mogomotsi says the team membership has given the committee a green light to its new revised constitution.
Expectations is that the new constitution will be forwarded to the Registrar of Societies for approval before it can be adopted by the Magosi family.
