Mother tongue should be a big policy coup for UDC. Why is the party not making a Public Relations blitz out of it?

A visitor might be forgiven for thinking that the ruling Umbrella for Democratic Change does not like gunboat diplomacy given the extent to which the party does not want to make a big fuss of it decision to introduce mother tongue including on radio and on national television.

But that is not so. If anything, what we are seeing is a failure in the art of communications.

UDC should do more to package its policy successes and better communicate them to the nation and the world.

At the moment the party is leaving a lot of space to the opposition.

This will ultimately have unintended consequences in that too often it gives the opposition a free place kick.
