Premier League rookies Motlakase Power Dynamos seems set for greater heights, as they have so far been unexpectedly successful in their maiden appearance in the elite league.
Dynamos’ performance in the premier league has so far exceeded expectations.
Not many people believed that Dynamos would be where they are today, especially considering the challenges that they are faced with. The team does not have a stable home ground, such that they are on the road almost every weekend. This is because the grounds in Palapye are not fit to host premier league games. Every week the team is either in Francistown, Orapa, Selibe Phikwe or Gaborone.
This results in the team incurring a lot of expenses. At the same time, the players and team officials are fatigued because of excessive travelling.
But the team has so far put up an impressive performance. So far Dynamos lies in the middle of the table and has been netting positive results, especially towards the end of the first round.
They have managed to hold big guns like BDF XI and Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
Motlakase have also managed to sign some players with premier league experience. Such players include the likes of Eric Molebatsi, Thalefang Molefhe, Jomo Bolofete and Tony Selala. According to the spokesperson of the team, Monty Gagomokgwa, their intention is to survive in the premier league.
He told The Telegraph that the position the team finds itself in is a morale booster. So far they are constructing their own stadium in Palapye, and it is expected to be complete before the end of the current season. This then means the team will play some of their matches in Palapye, where they enjoy massive support.
