Say Maun and most people immediately think of a laid back village teeming with international tourists on hired fully equipped 4×4 for camping and game viewing in the parks. That is until they have been part of the My Maun Experience which literally transforms the sleepy village into a party village with lots of fun, games and of course the traditional game viewing.
The 2013 My Maun Experience which ran from 20 December to 1st January lived up to its billing attracting scores of Local and International artists, celebrities, tourists and revelers. Now in its third year, My Maun Experience 2013 menu comprised a tantalizing mix of game drives, music shows, 5 a side soccer tournaments, a marathon, quad bike rides, pool and dart competitions and a beauty pageant.
According to one of the organizers of the event Bissau Gaobakwe, this time around they teamed up with promoters from Maun, to host more events under the same banner. The event also saw the inauguration of the “Miss My Maun Experience” at Maun Lodge followed by an after party at Fresh Exclusive nightclub.
Some of the International celebrities who graced Maun include SABC presenter Thomas Mlambo and his colleague Boity. The events saw the inauguration of the My Maun Experience marathon, which brought many contestants, including former champions. And also featured world champion Amantle Montsho who came to give her support.
