NexMetals Mining Corp. has reported improved metallurgical results at its Selkirk project in Botswana, strengthening the case for turning the past-producing mine into a standalone development rather than a stranded asset tied to the former BCL smelter.
The company said tests using core from its 2025 drilling programme confirmed Selkirk can produce separate saleable copper and nickel concentrates. Earlier studies had assumed a lower-grade bulk concentrate for processing through the BCL smelter, which is no longer operating.
