On Friday, Orange Botswana unveiled its intention to sponsor a six Nation Rugby tournament to the tune of P200 000. The event was held in Gaborone at Bull & Bush and it was not the first time as Orange had sponsored the tournament previously.
Giving a keynote address, the Public Relations Officer of Orange Botswana, Karabo Tlhabiwe, highlighted the strong relationship Orange has with Botswana rugby.
Tlhabiwe said their commitment for sports in Botswana is unfaltering as they believe in the power of developing sports.
“In an era of financial downturn, we are honoured to keep assisting with the empowering of our sports codes as now we can see them growing from strength to strength.”
Tlhabiwe promised that Orange Botswana will continue with the P200 000 sponsorship for the next two years.
The tournament, which will be held at the UB stadium from the 20th -25th July, is a joint venture of the Confederation of African Rugby, Botswana Rugby Union and Orange Botswana.
Teams which will take part in the six day tournament are Botswana, Reunion, Mauritius, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Madagascar.
